Meeting 1

Our first meeting was held Wednesday, September 12 at St. Peter Lutheran in Arlington Heights.
St. Peter's kindergarten teacher, Bethany Stellwagen, presented some ideas regarding technology tools for the classroom.  Click here to view the document which includes a variety of websites to enhance the technology in your school.

Additional Notes:
*Some classroom websites & online book websites cost money.
* YouTube: Be sure your staff are previewing the entire duration of a YouTube video before sharing with their class
*Look for a new assessment app for IPhone that will help you create portfolios!
*Check out the Barnes & Noble website for an "Online Storytime"
*Check out "Drop Box" on the web. This service allows you to bring your photos, docs, videos, etc., anywhere and share them anytime. Drop Box is similar to Google Docs
*Shutterfly is a great way to create photo books, personalized cards and share photos/classroom information with your families (password protected site). You can also create sign-up sheets or forms that need to be returned via online.  Teachers have found that parents respond much more quickly using this form of communication.

Send me an e-mail if you have additional technology websites that your teachers are using in the classroom and I will put together another document.

Thank you St. Peter for allowing us to view your early childhood classrooms.  St. Peter just completed an expansion project in order to serve the needs of the younger children in their community.  May God continue to richly bless and grow the early childhood programs in our Northern Illinois District.  Enjoy some of the pictures below from our tour.
