School-of-the-Month!

St. John's, Lombard
The faculty of Saint John’s Lutheran in Lombard hosted a lovey soup and salad meal in their school library on November 12th.

We had a round table discussion on strategies to not only market our programs, but to encourage families to keep enrolling from year to year.

Consider:
-Inviting families at church to school events.
-Open up events to the community, posting events on community television channels, through local newspapers, and local parent Facebook posts.
-Get involves with your chamber of commerce. Having local businesses (especially realtors) know of you and your program will encourage them to recommend your school to their clients.
-Give families an incentive when they rsvp and then attend open house, kindergarten information nights, and on a signing day when a family enrolls. Alicia Gauss from Cross Yorkville gives winter hats with the school logo.
-Encourage buddy programs between older students and younger ones. Help little ones to know the teachers of older students. Have little ones attend the school’s pep rally.

Our next opportunity to gather will be at Concordia University on Monday, February 3rd. Choose between a presentation on the Project Approach and Emergent Curriculum, or Google Classroom (presentation directed at principals and admission directors).
