January Network Meeting

Mission Stories:
  • Shepherd's Flock in Arlington Heights held an intergenerational Christmas Program
  • Baptism remembrances are celebrated each month at St. Paul, Aurora. Families are invited to chapel and are brought to the front of the church where the principal prays over them.
  • Update on Muslim child attending one of our Lutheran early childhood programs: This young boy has increased his enrollment from two to three days. Mom talked of how much he loves it here and asks for school when he's not here. They've seen such a positive change in him since he began attending.
  • Sonshine Preschool observed a child struggling with his day. He was bent over in the gym and when they went to comfort him he told his teacher he was "talking to God"
-Mark Your Calendar: Concordia University Chicago Early Childhood Conference- August 4, 2017

-We also talked about how it may be a good idea to get Keith Wilharm to talk to our group next year to encourage our centers to become NLSA accredited. Also, it would be nice to have a speaker or topic about blended classrooms - perhaps Angela Hess from Bethany Lutheran.

Topic: Technology Resources
*Technology is ever-changing. The resources below can go out-of-date rather quickly. However, hopefully you will find a few apps, smartboard activities, and websites to incorporate appropriately into classroom teaching.

This one is nice, you could print the 1st page and give to parents
