October 8 Network Meeting Cancelled

Colleagues,

We will be cancelling our October 8 network meeting at Immanuel, Dundee.  We will still be offering our October 22 Early Childhood Network meeting in the East Region at Mt. Olive in Rockford. Please see the information below from Immanuel Lutheran School and keep their faculty, students, and families in your prayers.  

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School of East Dundee gather together this week to celebrate the life and heavenly home going of one of our own staff members.  Mrs. Jamie Harvan served as our computer teacher and cheer coach in recent years and has been battling breast cancer for the last few years.  We rejoice that she is now victorious and was welcomed home to heaven on Saturday!  We pray for God's peace and comfort to be with her husband, Nate, and her children Rachel and David, both students here at Immanuel.  As we gathered together this morning for a special Chapel service, Pastor Yonker asked "how do we DO this?" as we both celebrate her victory over cancer and her eternal life, and also mourn her loss.  We do both together, with God's help! The wake will be held Tuesday from 2-8 PM and the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 East Main Street, East Dundee, IL 60118.

 

The outpouring of love and care has been amazing and so many times we have been awed by the school children's understanding of our victory in Jesus, making us all the more grateful and humbled that we can serve at a Lutheran school!
